The FreeGate project targets the creation of an open source, intuitive, easy to use and business ready integration system. Through a market survey about the different open source EAI projects available in the free and open source domain as well as the gathering of the requirements in the healthcare sector as a proof of concept domain, a best of breed open source EAI system is determined. In the second phase, the determined integration system will be extended to an EAI system that is ready for professional use, including intuitive graphical frontends for configuration, administration and monitoring, domain specific protocols and interfaces & a network of professional support companies.
